About the role
We are seeking a professional and customer focused Service Advisor to join a busy commercial vehicle service team in Newark. This Service Advisor position is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, delivering excellent customer service and coordinating work between customers and workshop teams.
As a Service Advisor, you will be the key link between customers and the workshop, ensuring information is gathered accurately, work is scheduled efficiently and customers are kept informed throughout the process. The successful Service Advisor will use strong communication, active listening and organisational skills to ensure a smooth customer journey from vehicle booking through to completion of work.
This Service Advisor role would suit someone with previous experience in a similar environment, although full training will be provided. The Service Advisor will play an important role in maintaining high standards of customer care, professionalism and teamwork while supporting the efficient operation of the service department.
Key responsibilities
• Act as the main point of contact between customers and the workshop team
• Accurately gather customer information and create detailed work order summaries
• Schedule repairs, maintenance and servicing work effectively
• Liaise with internal departments and stakeholders to coordinate workloads and priorities
• Keep customers updated on the progress of their vehicles
• Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong customer relationships
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment
• Follow all health and safety procedures and company standards
• Attend training courses and development opportunities as required
Skills and experience required
Essential:
• Strong customer service and relationship building skills
• Good communication and active listening abilities
• Computer literacy and confidence using administration systems
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage scheduling requirements

• Commitment to health and safety standards
Desirable:
• Previous experience as a Service Advisor or within a customer service, automotive, transport or commercial vehicle environment
• Experience coordinating workloads or scheduling work
• Full UK driving licence
