The Venatu HR Hub is designed to keep us connected with our clients and candidates by sharing clear, practical updates on key HR developments. While our initial focus is on the Employment Rights Act 2025 as it moves into implementation following Royal Assent on 18 December 2025, the Hub will also feature insights on wider HR trends, compliance changes, and best practice.

Venatu HR Networking Event – Building a Stronger HR Community
At Venatu, we’re passionate about bringing people together, and this February we were proud to host our very first HR Networking Event and what a fantastic morning it was.
Read what my network said about the session:
We welcomed a group of HR professionals from across South Yorkshire who came together to share insights, challenges, and best practice in a relaxed, open environment. The atmosphere was collaborative and honest, with conversations ranging from upcoming legislative changes to the realities of managing people-focused roles in a constantly evolving landscape.
What We Achieved
Employment Rights Bill Update
We kicked off with an informative update on the Employment Rights Bill, giving attendees clarity on upcoming legislative changes and how these will shape employer responsibilities in 2024 and beyond. Conversations quickly turned to practical implications from policy adjustments to communication strategies showing just how committed HR leaders are to staying ahead of change.
A Raw and Powerful Session on Men’s Mental Health
One of the most impactful moments of the morning came from Andy’s Man Club, who delivered an incredibly raw, honest presentation on men’s mental health and the role employers can play in supporting their male workforce.
It hit home.
Many attendees commented on how valuable it was to understand how AMC can sit within a wider wellbeing strategy, helping to normalise conversations that many men still struggle to have at work. It was emotional, real, and a powerful reminder that HR isn’t just about process, it’s about people.
Kinship Carers: A Conversation That Sparked Real Curiosity
We also explored the topic of Kinship Carers a role many employers know exists, but few feel confident navigating. The session created real curiosity and opened up meaningful discussion around how businesses can support employees taking on these crucial caregiving responsibilities.
The message was clear: This is an area where employers can make a huge difference by simply being aware, prepared, and proactive.
Getting ahead of the curve and embedding support for Kinship Carers isn’t just good practice it’s good people management. And honestly, why wouldn’t you?
A Community in the Making - More than anything, the biggest success of the event was the community we began to build:Honest discussions about real HR challenges Shared experiences and practical advice A safe space to learn, question, and be curious New relationships between HR professionals who rarely get time to connect
This is the start of something exciting.
What’s Next?
This is just the start. The enthusiasm and feedback from the event have made it clear our HR community is ready to grow.
We’ll be announcing our next HR Networking Event very soon, and we’re excited to build on this momentum. Whether you joined us this time or you’re planning to come along to the next one, we’d love for you to be part of it.
