What the Role Involves

Chip Repair:

• Assessing stone chip damage to assess whether the chip's position, size and type are within the repairable criteria defined by the British Standard BS AU 242 and the insurer or employer's own approved repair criteria, and communicating clearly to the customer where a chip is outside repairable criteria and requires replacement rather than repair
• Carrying out resin injection repairs on eligible chips using a bridge-mounted vacuum and pressure system, selecting the appropriate resin viscosity for the chip type and ambient temperature, injecting resin under controlled vacuum and pressure cycles to fill the chip completely and curing the completed repair under UV light before polishing and inspecting the result against the completion standard
• Completing chip repair paperwork and insurance claim documentation accurately, recording the chip's position, pre-repair condition, resin used and post-repair result for the customer record and any insurer audit requirement

Windscreen Replacement - Removal:
