What the Role Involves

Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI):

• Completing the PDI checklist for new vehicles arriving from the manufacturer or distribution centre, working through every item on the check - fluid levels, tyre pressures, tyre specification, lighting operation, wiper blade condition, horn function, locking operation, multimedia system pairing and any manufacturer-specific software readiness check - and recording the outcome of each item accurately in the employer's DMS or paper-based system
• Identifying any defect, transportation damage or missing item discovered during PDI and reporting it immediately through the correct channel - to the Prep Centre Manager, the service department's reception or the relevant ordering system - ensuring every discrepancy is on record before the vehicle moves to the next stage of preparation rather than being discovered by the customer at handover
