What the Role Involves

• Carrying out component replacement work on buses and coaches including tyre removal and fitting, brake disc, pad, drum and shoe replacement, air filter, oil filter and fluid service items, suspension and steering linkage components, windscreen wipers and bulb replacement
• Assisting qualified technicians and PSV Mechanics with more complex maintenance tasks, carrying out preparation and disassembly work ahead of the qualified technician's diagnosis or component work and cleaning, reassembling and post-work checking once the core repair is complete
• Conducting pre-service vehicle preparation including washing and presenting vehicles for inspection, setting up the vehicle in the designated service bay and gathering the parts and materials required for the allocated service job
• Completing tyre pressure checks, visual checks of lighting, glass and bodywork condition and reporting any observed defects to the PSV Mechanic or supervisor immediately rather than leaving them undocumented
