What the Role Involves

Picking:

• Receiving pick lists, pick labels or WMS-directed picking tasks for trade orders, workshop requisitions or counter collections and fulfilling each order by locating and picking the correct part numbers from the correct bin locations across the warehouse or stockroom
• Confirming each picked part against the pick list or WMS scan, identifying and reporting any bin location discrepancies - missing stock, incorrect part in location or damaged items - immediately to the supervisor or stock controller rather than substituting or skipping without notification
• Maintaining pick accuracy as the primary performance standard, re-checking uncertain bin locations or part number matches before confirming the pick rather than despatching a part that has not been positively verified

Packing and Despatch:

• Packing picked parts correctly for safe transit, selecting the appropriate packaging material and box size for the part's dimensions and fragility, applying address labels and despatch documentation accurately and placing completed orders in the correct despatch area for the relevant carrier or delivery route
