What the Role Involves

• Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance services on light commercial vehicles in line with the manufacturer's service schedule or the fleet operator's maintenance programme, covering engine servicing, brake inspection and adjustment, tyre checks, fluid levels, lighting, steering and suspension inspection and all associated service items
• Diagnosing and repairing engine faults including fuel system issues, EGR and diesel particulate filter defects, turbocharger faults, timing system issues, coolant leaks and oil system problems using a combination of mechanical knowledge and hand-held or workshop diagnostic tools
• Inspecting and replacing braking system components including discs, pads, drums, shoes, brake hoses, calipers, wheel cylinders and handbrake mechanisms across a wide range of van makes and models
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on van lighting, charging and starting systems, body control modules, central locking, cab electronics and auxiliary equipment fitted to fleet vehicles
• Replacing clutch assemblies, CV joints, driveshafts, wheel bearings, suspension components and associated steering geometry components across LCV platforms
