What the Role Involves

• Fuelling vehicles at the end of each service shift or at the start of each duty cycle, recording fuel volumes, mileage readings and vehicle registration details accurately in the fuel management system or paper fuel log
• Moving and positioning vehicles within the depot to the duty allocation plan, ensuring each vehicle is berthed in the correct bay for its scheduled departure time and that the depot layout remains organised and operationally efficient throughout the shift
• Carrying out visual walk-around checks on vehicles during the fuelling process, identifying exterior damage, tyre condition issues, lighting defects and fluid leaks, and reporting any defects found to the engineering or Depot Manager promptly and accurately via the depot's defect reporting system
• Cleaning vehicle exteriors and interiors where within the role's scope, ensuring vehicles are presented to the required standard for service
• Managing the fuelling area safely, ensuring fuel spillage procedures are followed, fuel dispenser and ground sensors are operated correctly and all fuel area health and safety requirements are met at all times
