Fleet Sales Manager Jobs

Fleet Sales Manager Jobs UK

The Fleet Sales Manager leads the commercial performance of the fleet and business sales function, combining the people leadership and pipeline management skills of a sales manager with a deep commercial understanding of fleet funding products, whole-life cost economics, manufacturer fleet programmes and the B2B account dynamics that drive sustained fleet volume.

In a franchised dealership the Fleet Sales Manager is accountable for the fleet department's monthly delivery target, the size and health of the fleet pipeline, the performance and development of the Fleet Sales Executive team and the relationship with the manufacturer's fleet department. In a leasing or fleet management business the role may carry direct account responsibility for key corporate or public sector customers alongside team leadership. In either context, the Fleet Sales Manager who builds a high-performing team, maintains a commercially active pipeline and delivers consistent fleet revenue is one of the most valuable commercial leaders in the business.

Venatu recruits Fleet Sales Managers for permanent and contract roles across franchised car and commercial vehicle dealerships, manufacturer and OEM fleet sales operations, vehicle leasing and contract hire businesses and automotive fleet remarketing businesses throughout the UK. This role sits within our car dealership and truck and van recruitment divisions. For Head of Fleet and Fleet Director appointments, visit Venatu Executive.

FAQ

What does a Fleet Sales Manager do in a franchised dealership? A Fleet Sales Manager leads the fleet and business sales department, managing the commercial performance of the fleet function against monthly volume and revenue targets, leading and developing the fleet sales executive team, managing key corporate and SME account relationships, overseeing fleet pricing and manufacturer fleet programme management and reporting fleet performance to the Dealer Principal or group management team.

Venatu confirms the specific knowledge requirements with each employer before presenting candidates.

Head of Fleet Sales and Regional Fleet Sales Manager roles carry OTE of £72,000 to £100,000 or more. Interim roles typically range from £400 to £600 per day. Venatu benchmarks package and OTE expectations with each client before beginning a search.

What is the progression from Fleet Sales Manager? Common progression routes include Head of Fleet Sales, Regional Sales Director, Fleet Director and Commercial Director. For Head of Fleet and Director-level appointments, visit Venatu Executive. Fleet Sales Managers who develop strong general management and P&L skills alongside their fleet commercial depth are also well positioned for Dealer Principal appointments at dealer groups with large fleet business bases.
