Fleet Manager - Automotive
Location: Bognor Regis
Salary: £40,000 per annum, increasing to £45,000 upon successful completion of probation
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fleet Manager to join a growing automotive business in Bognor Regis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and commercially minded Fleet Manager to take responsibility for a large and diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, available and operational.
You will work closely with multiple departments and external suppliers, playing an important role in ensuring vehicle availability supports day-to-day operations and customer requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the compliance, availability and operational performance of a large vehicle fleet.
- Ensuring vehicles meet all relevant DVSA, road safety and legal requirements.
- Coordinating servicing, maintenance, inspections, MOTs and repairs.
- Managing vehicle allocation and utilisation to maximise fleet efficiency.
- Ensuring courtesy vehicles are available when required and allocated effectively.
- Monitoring vehicle compliance and driver-related requirements.
- Analysing fleet utilisation, maintenance costs and performance trends.
- Developing and monitoring KPIs to improve fleet efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across fleet operations.
- Building strong working relationships with operational and management teams.
- Managing relationships with external suppliers, maintenance providers, leasing companies and transport partners.
- Ensuring suppliers deliver against agreed service levels, costs and quality expectations.
- Managing multiple priorities and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing a large and varied vehicle fleet.
- Experience across both cars and commercial vehicles, with HGV experience highly desirable.
- A CPC qualification/licence.
- Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations and road transport legislation.
- Good understanding of vehicle compliance, maintenance and safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of fleet costs and utilisation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing external suppliers and service providers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- A full UK driving licence.
