MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim)
Location: Northampton
Salary: £23.00-£26.00 per hour (£52,000 basic OTE £56,000+)
Hours: Full-Time | 42.5 Hours per Week
We are currently looking for an experienced MET Technician to join a well-established, manufacturer-approved accident repair centre in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern workshop using the latest repair technology alongside an experienced and supportive team.
The Role
As an MET Technician, you will play a key role in returning damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition by carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim work to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components prior to panel repairs.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repair work.
- Ordering and fitting replacement parts.
- Reassembling vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
- Carrying out geometry and wheel alignment work.
- Completing ADAS calibration and diagnostic work using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Ensuring all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
- Working collaboratively with the wider bodyshop team to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an MET Technician, Strip & Fit Technician or Vehicle Technician.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Experience with vehicle diagnostics, geometry and ADAS systems is advantageous.
- A conscientious individual with excellent attention to detail.
- Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work.
- A team player who is eager to learn and develop new skills.
- ATA accreditation or NVQ qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
