About the role
A great opportunity is available for a skilled HGV Welder to join a busy and well equipped workshop in Grantham. This HGV Welder role involves carrying out welding and fabrication work on HGV bodies, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. The successful HGV Welder will be responsible for working on a variety of commercial vehicles, supporting both repairs and new fabrication tasks. This HGV Welder position is ideal for someone with strong welding experience who takes pride in producing precise and durable work. As an HGV Welder, you will be part of a professional team where your expertise as an HGV Welder will contribute to maintaining quality and efficiency across all projects.
Key responsibilities
• Carry out welding and fabrication work on HGV bodies and components
• Repair and modify commercial vehicle structures as required
• Read and interpret technical drawings where necessary
• Ensure all welding work meets safety and quality standards
• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and durability
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Work with attention to detail to deliver high quality results
Skills and experience required
Essential
• Proven experience working as an HGV Welder or in a similar welding role
• Level 3 qualification in steel and aluminium welding
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication processes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of attention to detail
