Job Title: Stores Person
Location: Tividale Depot
Hours of Work: Mon-Fri 08:30-17:00, 40 hrs per week.
Overview
We have an excellent opportunity for a Stores Person to join our team at our Tividale. Working closely with the Stores Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the stores function, ensuring Midlands depots are efficiently supplied with parts as required. You will play a key role in maintaining stock levels to support the engineering department in meeting service delivery targets.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience within the motor or transport industry
- Ability to identify key vehicle parts
- Strong communication skills
- Basic IT proficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure timely ordering of parts
- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to the Stores Manager
- Work with the purchasing/accounts team to ensure cost-effective procurement
- Maintain and update the electronic parts system (Freeway), ensuring timely authorisation
- Process returns and warranty claims promptly
- Manage goods outward packaging and logistics
- Receive deliveries, ensuring accurate and timely system updates
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the stores, including old units
- Liaise with suppliers via phone, online platforms, and in person
- Provide updates on part delivery ETAs to managers and supervisors
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations
