About the role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join a busy workshop operation covering Glasgow and the surrounding areas. This role involves carrying out MOT testing, vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a range of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and roadworthiness standards. It would suit a qualified Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester who is confident working independently, enjoys hands on technical work and is looking for consistent weekday hours with competitive hourly pay on monthly contracts.
Key responsibilities
Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards and regulations.
Identifying, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and system faults across a variety of vehicles.
Inspecting, maintaining and repairing vehicles to ensure reliability and roadworthiness.
Completing job cards, maintenance records and associated paperwork accurately and clearly.
Conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
Supporting general workshop duties as required to assist the wider team.
Skills and experience required
Full UK driving licence.
Level 3 Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
Level 2 Award in MOT Testing.
Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
Good understanding of DVSA standards and vehicle safety requirements.
High attention to detail when completing repairs and documentation.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
